Andy’s place is lovely. Cosy, homely and well-kitted out. The welcome basket was also a lovely touch! The house is in a great location in Kendal (very central and easy to walk everywhere) and the private parking space was very handy. Andy was super responsive, friendly and had lots of good recommendations. Definitely recommend his place and would love to stay again if we are ever back in Kendal!

Andrew was a great host knowledgeable of the area, made some good recommendations and was always prompt with a response.Property is well situated right off the highstreet for local bars, restaurants and shops. Plenty of places are driveable like Wray castle, Ambleside, Orrest head, Brockhole and Windermere we visited all of which while staying and enjoyed them all.

Being just an hour and 20 minutes from The Lake District, my son and I love nothing more to get out on the mountain bikes in Kendal and explore the surrounding beauty that we have door step always managing to find new areas of interest. It make’s for a fantastic few days away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Welcome to Florence Cottage. A few tips to make your stay more enjoyable with us ….....

We take your safety very seriously and have put measures in place for this. Our home is fitted with inbuilt fire/smoke detectors on every level including the kitchen along with carbon monoxide alarm situated near the boiler. There is also a fire blanket fitted to the wall on the right hand side of the sink and a fire extinguisher placed in the cupboard underneath the sink together with a torch in case of power failure.

A first aid box can also be found in the same cupboard as the extinguisher, please do not remove them unless an emergency situation calls for it .

There are sensor night lights fitted to the bedroom and bathroom skirting boards for visibility at night, these can easily be turned off if not required during your stay, there is a small switch on each light. Wi-fi can be accessed on all three floors.

Bins and waste disposal – We are firm believers in green recycling. Please utilise the facilities provided in the parking space below the property putting bottles & cans & food storage cartons in the plastic container provided. General household waste in the Black bin.

How we started

I fell in love with the beautiful Lake district on my first visit almost 30 years ago when some of my family visited from Australia. We arranged for all of us to stay in the lake district for 3 days and we made some great memories there.

Since then, I have been back many times, staying at a variety of hotels B&B’s, pubs, guest houses and friend’s homes and I hoped that one day I would be able to live there myself.

 

When my family circumstances changed, I decided to take a new direction in my life and set up a business in the in Manchester with my brothers which eventually give me the opportunity purchase a lovely house and spend more time where I have always enjoyed. I am so thrilled to be able to bring my dreams to a reality and to share this with my guests.
